Voice Transcriptions:

  • We do not store transcript text content
  • We do not store AI-generated rewrites of your content
  • Audio file are deleted immediately after transcription
  • Tone selections (Professional, Casual, Direct, Empathetic, Refined)

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Usage Data:

  • Number of recordings per month
  • Word count per recording
  • Timestamps of recordings
  • Feature usage patterns
  • Subscription tier and payment status

Technical Data:

  • Device information (macOS version)
  • App version
  • Error logs and crash reports

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect:

  • Audio files (deleted immediately after transcription)
  • Payment card details (handled by Stripe)
  • Location data
  • Biometric data or voice prints
  • Personal characteristics (age, gender, race, etc.)
  • Health or medical information (unless you speak it)
  • Government-issued IDs

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and improve our service - Transcribe your voice and rewrite content using AI
  • Manage your account - Authentication, subscription management, usage limits
  • Process payments - Billing for Pro subscriptions through Stripe
  • Customer support - Respond to your inquiries and provide assistance
  • Improve our product - Analyze usage patterns to enhance features
  • Comply with legal obligations - Tax compliance, fraud prevention, legal requests
  • Send administrative communications - Account notifications, payment receipts, usage limit warnings

We share your information only with trusted third-party service providers necessary to operate Cadence:

4.1 Service Providers

OpenAI (Privacy Policy | DPA)

  • Purpose: Transcribe voice recordings and rewrite text using AI
  • Data Shared: Voice transcriptions, rewriting prompts
  • Note: OpenAI does not train on API data

Supabase (Privacy Policy | DPA)

  • Purpose: Database hosting and user authentication
  • Data Shared: Email, user IDs, usage metadata (no transcript content)
  • Compliance: SOC 2 Type II, GDPR compliant

Stripe (Privacy Policy | DPA)

  • Purpose: Payment processing and subscription management
  • Data Shared: Email, payment information
  • Compliance: PCI DSS Level 1, SOC 2

Vercel (Privacy Policy | DPA)

  • Purpose: API infrastructure hosting
  • Data Shared: API requests containing transcriptions
  • Compliance: GDPR/CCPA compliant

All service providers have data processing agreements in place and are contractually obligated to handle your data securely.

4.2 What We Do NOT Do

We do not:

  • ❌ Use your data for behavioral tracking or profiling

5. Data Retention

Active Accounts:

  • We retain your data for as long as your account is active and you continue to use Cadence

Deleted Accounts:

  • When you delete your account, we permanently delete all your personal data within 30 days
  • Backups may retain data for up to 90 days for disaster recovery purposes

Legal Obligations:

  • We may retain certain data longer if required by law (e.g., tax records, fraud prevention)

10.2 AI-Generated Content

Cadence uses AI to transcribe and rewrite your content. AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate or inappropriate. You are responsible for reviewing and using AI output appropriately.

You retain full ownership of all content you create using Cadence, including AI-generated rewrites.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.

For material changes, we will notify you via:
